Comparing Design, Performance, and Privacy Features of Samsung’s Latest Ultra Phones
How the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Compares to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra
The Privacy Display is a significant improvement over the previous generations in every aspect of Samsung’s new $1,300 super flagship.
At the year’s first Galaxy Unpacked presentation, Samsung unveiled three new S26 phones: the S26, the S26 Plus, and the ultra-premium S26 Ultra.
The S26 Ultra carries on the company’s practice of producing Ultra phones with premium features that are absent from the other models in their respective series.
The Ultra’s Privacy Display, which lets you adjust how visible your phone is to those nearby, is this year’s standout feature.
Other than that, the S26 Ultra offers just slight enhancements. The S26 Ultra has the same features as the S25 and S24 Ultra,
with the exception of the fact that it is now built of aluminum, has a slightly larger screen, has a 16 GB RAM option, has an upgraded processor, and has faster charging. Even the $1,300 price is unchanged.
These are the comparisons between the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Galaxy S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra.
1. Design and presentation
The screen of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is only slightly bigger than that of the S25 and S24 Ultra.
The new S26 Ultra boasts a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a 3,120 by 1,440 pixel resolution, while the S24 and S25 Ultra both have 6.8-inch AMOLED panels. The adjustable refresh rate of all three panels ranges from 1 to 120 Hz.
However, the S26 Ultra’s pixel-level Privacy Display is very remarkable. While enabled, it will make it difficult or impossible to view what’s on the screen from the side while maintaining visibility while staring at the phone straight.
You can even have the Privacy Display activated only for alerts, leaving the rest of the screen clearly visible, in addition to being able to switch the feature on and off for individual apps.
While the S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra both feature Gorilla Glass Armor, the S26 Ultra’s screen uses Gorilla Glass Armor 2 cover glass.
According to reports, Gorilla Glass Armor 2 is more resistant to scratches and drops than its predecessor.
In terms of size, the S26 Ultra is slightly slimmer and slightly larger than its predecessors. During her hands-on experience.
Its measurements are 6.44 by 3.07 by 0.31 inches, but the S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra are 6.41 by 3.06 by 0.32 and 6.4 by 3.11 by 0.34 inches, respectively.
The S26 Ultra’s frame is made of aluminum as well. The titanium frame on the S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra is different from that.
2. Cameras.
The S26 Ultra shares the exact same camera specifications as its predecessors while having the greatest camera hardware of the S26 family.
A 200-megapixel wide, a 50-megapixel ultrawide, a 10-megapixel 3x telephoto, and a 50-megapixel 5x telephoto are the four cameras included on all three Ultra phones.
The S26 Ultra does, however, feature wider apertures and can take better pictures in low light. A 12-megapixel front-facing camera is another feature shared by all of them.
Software is largely responsible for the S26 Ultra’s camera improvements. Selfies may now capture more natural skin tones, screenshots can now be categorized within the Gallery, and the Horizontal Lock feature will maintain the horizon steady while recording video.
3. RAM, processor, and battery.
The three Ultra phones all have 5,000 mAh batteries; however, they charge at different rates.
While the new S26 Ultra offers 60W cable charging and 25W wireless charging, the S24 and S25 Ultra feature 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
Similar to the S25 Ultra, the S26 Ultra lacks magnets but can accept magnetic charging accessories if a case with them is used.
With every generation, the Ultra phones’ processors also become more rapid and effective. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powers the S24 Ultra, the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy powers the S25 Ultra, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy powers the S26 Ultra.
The S26 Ultra is the only Ultra phone with a 16GB RAM option, despite the fact that all three Ultra phones have three storage size options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
(This comes with the 1TB and 512GB capacities.) Only 12GB of RAM is included with the S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra.
