The U.S. release details for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 “Wide” have been updated.
To compete with Apple’s planned iPhone Fold, which is expected to have a more video-friendly display, Samsung is creating a larger, bigger version of the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
According to new statistics, the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 model will launch in the United States and all over the world, in contrast to the Tri-Fold’s limited supply.
Details of the New Galaxy-Wide Fold and Release Verified by the GSM IMEI Database
Along with the other foldable devices Samsung intends to release this summer, the first formal confirmation of the existence of Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 8 wide model has come from the GSM IMEI database, a global registry for mobile device identification.
The item, which was discovered by Smartprix, shows a new model number, SM-F971, which is distinct from the ordinary Galaxy Z Fold 8 (SM-F976).
In contrast to the typical “Q” series used for the main Fold line, this model has the internal codename “H8.”
This indicates that two Fold phones will be released this summer (along with the Galaxy Z Flip 8), and because other rumors have verified the Wide Fold’s existence, this is probably it.

According to additional information, the new foldable phones—including the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s “H8” model—will debut in the United States, China, Canada, Korea, and other countries.
Samsung is developing a more user-friendly Galaxy Z Fold. 8.
The large aspect ratio of the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s predecessors has drawn a lot of criticism since it makes landscape videos unsuitable.
Although the foldable screen is enormous, a full-screen video doesn’t appear any bigger than it would on the screen of a standard phone.
According to a January ET News article, Samsung will address this with the Wide Fold’s 4:3 aspect ratio and 7.6-inch inner display when unfolded.
Additionally, compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s predecessors, its 5.4-inch cover screen suggests a squatter and more square design.
Additionally, the future iPhone Fold is said to have a similar design. Below is a mockup of the revised aspect ratio of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide from Ice Universe.
How much Samsung will charge for the new Wide Fold is one important question. When the Tri-Fold debuted in the United States less than a week ago, it was incredibly pricey at $2,899 (and sold out fast). However, that is really a third-panel idea phone.
According to these new details for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 range, the Wide Fold is a consumer-ready, mass-produced phone that should be affordable for average consumers.
Apart from the unique design, it is also unlikely to differ significantly from the conventional Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup.
The specifications can even be the same. If so, may the price be comparable to the $1,999 that Samsung usually charges for its Galaxy Z Fold line? When the new gadget is released later this year, we’ll find out more.
According to rumors, Samsung is getting ready to release a bigger Galaxy Z Fold phone this year. We just mean that it will resemble the original Pixel Fold more than the present Galaxy Z Fold 7.
It would begin as a wider gadget in phone size before expanding into a very wide tablet, as opposed to a candy bar-style device that unfolds into a square tablet.
Early versions of Samsung’s planned One UI 9 were discovered online last week, and users began looking over the files.
Animations of a foldable with a substantially broader profile were found and included within those files. One of those animations is seen below.
You’ll see that it has a larger cover display and instructs you to swipe up to view the home screen or widgets.
After that, the gadget expands into its broad tablet shape, allowing you to view content occupying a potentially enormous tablet.

We don’t know the dimensions, so it’s just conjecture. Samsung might provide us with a more compact form factor that is only a wider shape when unfolded.
If all of this seems insignificant to you, I’ll just state that Samsung doesn’t usually incorporate animations like this into their software if they don’t somehow depict a product.
These One UI animations have appeared for earlier devices, and they frequently offer a preview of what’s to come.
Other than what we can see in this animation, there isn’t much more accessible here, but it’s encouraging that Samsung is developing a new form factor for the Galaxy Z Fold lineup. I’m eager to see how this develops.
