This feature will stop you from setting up two meetings at the same time and day. We think that for this function to work, the Galaxy S26 series phones would have to evaluate everything that you enter using Galaxy AI, which might not only require a considerable amount of processing power but also hog energy. For a lot of people, it could also be a privacy concern.

To that extent, the Galaxy S26 range may provide users with an option to disable the feature. At the time, there’s also no information on the name of this feature. Hopefully, we will get to know more about it as the introduction of these phones gets near. There’s also no information if Samsung wants to extend this capability to older phones with One UI 8.5.

Galaxy Unpacked 2026: What to expect at Samsung’s massive launch event.

The biggest issue around the 2026 edition of Samsung’s start-of-year Galaxy Unpacked event is why it hasn’t happened yet. And that’s followed by a follow-up query: So when will Galaxy Unpacked 2026 actually take place?
In earlier years, we’d already be counting down the hours till Galaxy Unpacked. The last two editions have been held in January—January 22 for last year’s event and January 17 for the one in 2024. The 2023 version narrowly missed January, taking place on February 1.

Yet, here we are roughly halfway through the month of January 2026 as of this writing with no official statement from Samsung as to when it’s conducting its next product event. Clearly, predictions that Samsung planned to push things back from the current timeframe weren’t joking.
There’s a lot of guesswork on when Galaxy Unpacked will take place because there’s not that much mystery surrounding what Samsung hopes to present. This event always reveals to us the next Galaxy S flagships, and with rumors developing regarding the Galaxy S26 series, this year will likely be no different.

Here’s what we know so far for Galaxy Unpacked 2026, including rumored dates and likely product launches.

The longer we get into January, the less possible it becomes that Samsung will keep up its trend of Galaxy Unpacked presentations in the first month of the year. That squares with a rumor that arose back in 2025 claiming Samsung would push out the 2026 edition of Unpacked while it made changes to the devices included in the Galaxy S26 lineup.

The latest news is that Samsung is prepping a February 25 event. And the source of the rumor is highly reliable—Evan Blass, who has a very solid track record when it comes to inside intel on Samsung, says suspicions of the February 25 date for Galaxy Unpacked are “100% right. “You may take that to the bank.”

If that is the case, it suggests that anything shown at Galaxy Unpacked 2026 likely won’t go on sale until March. That hasn’t happened since the Galaxy S20 debuted six years ago.
For what it’s worth, the rumor mill believes this year’s Unpacked will take place in San Francisco. The last two events have been held in San Jose.

Galaxy S26.

After allegedly flirting with the idea of renaming its entry-level flagship device as the Galaxy S26 Pro, Samsung will reportedly introduce the new model with the original S26 moniker. Leaked specs point to very mild enhancements for the Galaxy S26—the screen is predicted to expand slightly to 6.3 inches, and Samsung could include a larger battery, too.

You’d expect the Galaxy S26 to contain the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 CPU launched last fall by Qualcomm, given the S25 models all had the latest Snapdragon technology. However, one report claims Samsung would incorporate the Exynos 2600 in various S26 models depending on the region where the phones are released.

We’ve heard opposing claims concerning Galaxy S26 prices, with some leakers suggesting Samsung would keep the beginning price at $799 as it was for the Galaxy S25. Other sources, though, have indicated that costs could go higher in other markets.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Samsung’s premium model is slated to see the most upgrades. For instance, while the camera layout would apparently remain unchanged on other S26 models, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to have a wider aperture on its 200MP main camera to let in more light. The 3x zoom lens on the Ultra could also include a higher-resolution sensor.

While the next model is expected to sport the same 6.9-inch screen as previously, the S26 Ultra could adopt a Privacy Display feature that makes it harder for spectators to obtain a sideways view of what’s on your phone. There’s also speculation of the Ultra obtaining exclusive Galaxy AI features; however, that approach would be in contrast with how Samsung has handled AI over the last couple years. Up until now, if a Galaxy AI feature worked on one model, it worked on all of them regardless of how much that model cost.

Speaking of pricing, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is Samsung’s most expensive phone outside of its foldables, so we’re fairly curious to see if increased RAM costs will push the price of the S26 Ultra above $1,299.

Galaxy S26 Plus.

The Edge’s surprise departure from Samsung’s launch plans is fantastic news for the Plus variant, which figures to be included in the devices Samsung announces at the next Unpacked. Don’t expect a huge overhaul, though—the same leaked specs that indicated little changing with the basic model saw the Galaxy S26 Plus receiving a processing increase, and that’s about it.
That’s fueled anticipation that Samsung’s focus with this wave of phone releases will center on Galaxy AI features. We don’t have a lot of rumors to go on there, but developing AI capabilities has been a big aim for Samsung’s mobile division for a couple of years running.

Other anticipated announcements.

New phones and Galaxy AI capabilities would make for a full agenda, but Samsung isn’t above teasing more products even when the focus is on phones. And there are a couple more products that Samsung would like to show off at the next Unpacked.

During the January 2024 Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung teased its Galaxy Ring, a smart ring that will formally debut later on that year. We’ve heard hints regarding a follow-up product that would combine the health-tracking functions included with the Galaxy Watch 8 along with design changes to the ring itself. So yet, the Galaxy Ring 2 has yet to materialize, although Galaxy Unpacked would provide a venue to inform us on the progress.

After releasing the Galaxy XR headset last year, Samsung has stated that it expects to introduce more products built on Google’s Android XR platform. That includes a set of Galaxy Glasses, with rumors pointing to a 2026 debut. We’ve already seen demos showcasing a prototype of Google’s smart glasses, which are slated to appear this year, and you’d imagine Samsung wouldn’t want to fall behind the competition.
