Discover the exciting future of Samsung’s galaxy foldable innovation.
Samsung’s next foldables may already have a launch date, and it lines up perfectly with how Samsung’s been doing summer Unpacked lately.
A new report says Unpacked is headed to London on July 22, and if that’s true, we’re likely getting the Galaxy Z Fold 8, probably the Z Flip 8, and a new “Wide Fold” that Samsung’s been rumored to be working on for a while. Oh, and the S Pen might be coming back too.
Alright, here’s what’s leaking, what it likely means, and what to watch for so you’re not caught off guard when Samsung makes it official.
This is all rumor territory for now, coming from the Korea Economic Times, with the details being picked up more widely after that. But the date, the location, and the product timing are all… pretty believable.
First up: the date and place.
The report claims Samsung will hold the next Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22.
That’s not random. Samsung’s been treating foldable launches like a traveling roadshow lately. Fold and Flip 5 launched in Korea, Fold and Flip 6 launched in Paris, Fold and Flip 7 went back to New York City, and now London would be the next big global stage.
It keeps the summer launch feeling like a major international moment, not just another livestream from a studio.
And the late-July? Also tracks.
Samsung usually does two major Unpacked windows: early-year for the Galaxy S series, and mid-year for foldables. We already had the early-year event in February. Late July is right in that familiar foldable slot.
Now, what devices should we expect on July 22 if this leak is right?
Number one: Galaxy Z Fold 8.
Samsung’s follow-up to the Z Fold 7 is the obvious headline device.
The Fold 7 was widely seen as Samsung really refining the “book-style” foldable: thinner design, more practical outer screen, and a much better overall feel than older gens.
If Samsung just iterates smartly on that formula, the Fold 8 could be the most polished version yet.

Number two: the rumored “Wide Fold.”
This is the more interesting part of the report. The idea is a new foldable line that’s wider, potentially aimed at people who want a bigger, more tablet-like canvas when opened.
If Samsung’s worried about Apple entering the foldable space soon, it makes sense to show up with something that feels new, not just “Fold 7 but slightly better.”
And yes, Apple’s foldable iPhone is still the big shadow here. It hasn’t been announced, but the rumors aren’t going away.
Samsung pushing out a wider, more productivity-focused foldable could be a direct “we’re not waiting around” move.
Number three: Galaxy Z Flip 8… even though it wasn’t mentioned.
The report doesn’t explicitly name the Flip 8, but let’s be real: it would be shocking if Samsung launched the Fold 8 without also launching the Flip 8 at the same event.
That’s been the pattern for years. The Fold is the tech flex, the Flip is the popular style pick, and Samsung likes launching them together because it makes the whole foldable category feel bigger.
And don’t forget wearables.
Samsung often uses summer Unpacked to launch new Galaxy Watch models too, so Galaxy Watch 9 could easily show up in the same presentation.
Even if you don’t care about watches, it matters because Samsung loves bundling pre-order deals, and the watch announcements usually tie right into that.
Now let’s talk about the detail that’ll matter to a lot of people: the S Pen.
The report suggests Samsung will showcase S Pen support for at least one of the new devices, possibly the Fold 8, possibly the Wide Fold, maybe both.
Why does that matter? Because S Pen support was basically missed on the Z Fold 7. Samsung’s explanation at the time was that they removed it to help make the device thinner.
And to be fair, the Fold 7 being impressively thin was a huge part of why people loved it.
But if Samsung can keep the thin design and bring back pen support through new stylus tech or a redesigned display layer, that’s a meaningful upgrade.
Especially if the Wide Fold is real, because a larger inner display with pen support just makes sense for note-taking, drawing, and actual productivity stuff.
Now pricing.
Samsung already raised the starting price last year, and people felt it. So if Samsung can keep the starting price around that same range while improving hardware, that’s a big deal.
And here’s where the Apple rumors get interesting. Leaked iPhone Fold pricing has been floating around at around $1,999 to $2,320, with higher storage versions going way higher.
If Apple actually comes in that expensive on a first-gen product, Samsung has an opportunity to look like the “safe” choice: more mature foldable hardware, better availability, and potentially a similar or lower starting price.
That said, there’s one more rumor floating around that you should treat carefully: pre-orders selling out fast.
Some claims say pre-orders opened early and initial stock sold out quickly. That kind of thing happens every year in one form or another, but until Samsung officially announces pre-order dates and regions, I’d take the “sold out in an hour” stuff with a grain of salt.
Still, the practical takeaway is real: if you want one at launch, you’ll need to move fast when pre-orders actually go live.
So, where does that leave us?
If July 22 in London is real, then we’re weeks away from Samsung showing off its next foldable lineup, possibly adding a new Wide Fold category, and possibly bringing back S Pen support after skipping it last year.
It’s not a shocking leak, but it is a useful one, because now we know exactly when to pay attention.
If you want, I can cover the next leaks as they drop and help you figure out whether the Fold 8, Flip 8, or the Wide Fold makes the most sense to buy or skip.
So subscribe, and tell me in the comments which one you actually care about: Z Fold 8, Flip 8, or this Wide Fold idea.
Until Samsung confirms it, treat all of this as rumor, but the timing and the lineup make a lot of sense.
If July 22 is the date, we’re about to see Samsung go all-in on foldables again, and this year might be more competitive than ever. Thanks for Reading, and I’ll catch you in the next one.
